Lifeguard

Salary/Hourly Rate: $14.06 or above depending on qualifications
Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM with opportunity for additional hours

Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the safety of students and supervising swimming classes in the various Hopkins Public Schools pools, by preventing and responding to emergencies. The lifeguard will enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations; recognize and respond effectively to emergencies; inspect the aquatic facility daily and report unsafe conditions and equipment to the supervisor; complete reports and records, and complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Responsible to the Enrichment Supervisor and Youth Programs Coordinator.
 

Qualifications:

Current certification in the following – American Red Cross Lifeguard Training; American Red Cross Community First Aid and Safety, and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Must have a thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques; understand and follow pool facility protocol, policies, procedures, and rules; leadership qualities, and public relations skills.
