Description:  Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Cultural Liaison (Latinx) for the 2024-2025 school year. The role engages with students, staff and families to promote and support student achievement through bridging the gap between the culture at home and the learning environment; promotes meaningful communication between home and school; and works with individual or small groups of students to become successful participants in their schools and communities. This position supports Spanish-speaking families and students at Edgerton Elementary. This position works 4 hours per day starting August 27, 2024 (total of 20 hours per week).

Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Latinx culture

Responsibilities:

  • Bridge information from schools on enrollment paperwork, attendance, school performance issues, school policies and procedures, health notices, conferences, teacher or administrative communications
  • Participate with families at school conferences and IEP meetings
  • Act as a communication liaison from parents to school or school to parents including home visits when appropriate
  • Communicate with appropriate teachers and other district personnel as necessary on academic matters
  • Promote family participation in school conferences and events
  • Promote student self-advocacy and relationship building
  • Lead student affinity groups during school day

Compensation:  Starting salary range is $23.44 – $27.13 per hour.
