Position Description:
The candidate selected to fill this role will teach Kindergarten specialist classes, as well as Mixed Arts in Grades 1, 2 and 5. Kindergarten specialists will teach Art, Music, Physical Education and Mixed Arts on a four-day rotation with each class being 30-minutes in length. Mixed Arts Teachers for Grades 1-5 will teach 60-minute classes, also on a four-day rotation. Mixed Arts is a new class and will be based on the state standards in Media Arts.

Teachers for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, caretakers, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.
 
Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid MN teaching license in K-5 Elementary.
  • Ideal candidate will have previous elementary level teaching experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of elementary pedagogy.
  • Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
  • Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, caretakers and staff.
  • Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances.
  • Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
  • Must be able to produce, analyze and respond to relevant data about student learning.
