Description
Richfield Public Schools is currently accepting applications for an Instructional Coach for the 2024-25 school year at Sheridan Hills Elementary. The role of the Instructional Coach is to build the capacity of teachers to implement evidence-based instruction, increase student engagement, and improve student achievement.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of strategies to establish rapport and trust with coachees; adhere to standards of confidentiality
- Provide support and assistance to teachers in the full implementation of the district’s adopted curricula/programs
- Assist teachers in appropriately pacing instruction
- Assist individual teachers and teacher teams in analyzing varied assessment data to inform classroom or grade-level decision making
- Advocate for equity by collaborating with all stakeholders to identify the instructional practices that will help teachers meet the needs of all learners, especially underserved students
- Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate tiered interventions within a Multi-Tiered System of Support framework
- Facilitate professional development sessions and learning academies
- Provide comprehensive individual and team coaching in evidence-based practices through action planning, co-planning, observing, modeling, and co-teaching that is differentiated to meet professional learning needs
- Serve as a leader on instructional leadership teams and school/district committees, including the District Staff Development Committee
- Prepare forms, records, and reports as directed
- Attend meetings and trainings as directed
- Reflect on coaching practices and engage in continuous improvement to meet the diverse needs of teachers
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
- Current Minnesota K-6 Elementary Education Licensure
- Previous experience in an elementary school setting
- Previous experience as an instructional coach or leader of adult learning preferred
