Required Qualifications:
- Current MN teaching license
- Ability to work with a diverse population of studentsÂ
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated flexibilityÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic tutoring experience with students at the elementary and/or secondary levels.
- Experience working with students who have disabilities.
Responsibilities:Â
- The Homebound Teacher provides instructional tutoring to students who are not able to attend school due to a variety of reasons. Teachers either go to the student’s home if the student cannot leave home, or they meet with the student in a mutually agreed upon public location.
- Delivers Instructional services to homebound/homebased students
- Work with the educational team to determine academic areas of focus
- Drives to and from district sites, students’ homes and other agencies to provide services
- Manages student behavior utilizing proactive, positive interventions and implements appropriate behavioral management plans and crisis intervention strategies
- Other related duties as assigned
