Aitkin School District # 0001 is looking for a Special Education Teacher (SLD/EBD/ABS/ASD) who will work with students that have emotional/behavioral and or academic support needs for the 2024-2025 School Year.  Candidates must be able to work with many different levels of students and collaborate with special services team members.   Candidates must be able to develop programming for students at all levels and support each students’ individualized education plan (IEP), as well as completing all necessary paperwork, and evaluations. There is potential to teach a section of ASL, American Sign Language.

Job Summary:

  •  Collaborate with IEP team members to design, coordinate, and deliver a rigorous and appropriate education for students with different disabilities.

  •  Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional.

  • Hold regular IEP meetings and maintain due process paperwork according to District, State and Federal guidelines. 

  • Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.

  • Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students. 

Qualifications:

  • Current MN Licensure (Variances are a possibility). K-12 Special Education (EBD/ABS and or ASD is preferred) 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Able to work cooperatively with staff

  • Experience in special education forms and due process
