Position:        Long-term substitute – Temporary Spanish/EL Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year 
Start Date:     August 2024 (August 26 – December 10, 2024)

Description/Requirements:
Rockford Area Schools is currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute High School Spanish/EL Teacher. This position will be from August 26 – December 10, 2024. This individual must be able to provide students with rigorous and relevant course content while developing positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.  We are looking for someone who can teach all levels of high school Spanish and would prefer someone who is capable of teaching our College In the Schools Spanish course.
Appropriate Minnesota teaching license required.  Candidate will be teaching Spanish 2 (3 sections) and EL (3 sections). 

The Rockford Area Schools enjoy the small school setting with around 1550 students in grades K-12 (500 HS students), and provides challenging opportunities for students as a certified Internation Baccalaureate IB school.  The High School provides college level coursework and career pathway options for students.  Our students are highly motivated and often participate in multiple activities which keep them engaged and committed to the school and community. 

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN Education Teaching License or the ability to obtain an Out of Field Permission (OFP)

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students

  • Strong classroom management skills that develops a supportive classroom environment
