Supervisor of Position: Colton LaChance, Activities Director

Qualifications: The Head Coach position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the student athletes and assistant coaches within the program. The Head Coach reports to and works closely with the Activities Director to determine goals and direction of the program. The Head Coach is responsible for both the health, safety and welfare of every student athlete participating in their Volleyball program for St. Francis Middle School.

Preferred:

Experience with volleyball as a coach and as an athlete.

Required:
Knowledge of and experience with practice techniques to create improvement.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Follows/meets expectations set forth by St. Francis Area Schools
  • Coordinate the training, instruction, conditioning, and selection of athletes at all levels within the volleyball program
  • Develops and organizes effective practices for athletes that teach volleyball skills needed to compete in our conference
  • Coordinates the activities and responsibilities of the assistant coaches
  • Demonstrates and generates among players an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play
  • Provides for the health, safety, and well being of team members at practices, games, and transportation to and from games. This includes monitoring the locker rooms of the volleyball athletes at St. Francis Middle School.
  • Affects a proper relationship with athletes, parents, and school staff
  • Distributes and collects equipment on a timely basis, informing athletes of their responsibility for the use and return of athletic equipment/uniforms. It is the coaches responsibility to collect all equipment that has been issued.
