Position Title: Getting Ready Together Educational Assistants
Primary Location: Goodview Early Childhood
Assignment Specifications: June 11-August 15; Monday through Thursday, 8:45am to 12:15pm; No services on June 19, July 4, and July 5
Group Affiliation/Policy: Educational Assistants
Classification: B-2-2
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
 
Responsibilities: Educational Assistants work under the direct supervision of a teacher or other certified personnel. The educational assistant does not have responsibility for making decisions about any aspect of a student’s educational program but is an integral part of the educational team because he or she provides the support a teacher needs to maximize instructional time. Additionally, applicants will ideally be available for all session dates.
 
Qualifications:  Minimum of high school level academic skills. Must have demonstrated skills or experience in supervising student behavior and applying consistent consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, including appropriate physical restraint; adapting lesson plans to the individual needs of students to facilitate their learning and to assist them in meeting any individual learning plans and objectives; applying rules, instructions and stated policies, procedures and IEP plans; developing a rapport with children and explaining concepts in a simple and understandable manner; using basic office equipment; effectively presenting information in 1:1 and/or small group situation to students concerning district/program routines, policies, rules, learning principles, concepts and other lesson plans.
