Welcome to the Hornet Fitness Center and Big Lake Community Education! Big Lake has a proud tradition of providing high-quality learning for students of all ages. This includes offering a variety of courses and recreational opportunities for all ages and stages of learning.

We are currently prioritizing hiring for the hours of 7/7:30am-3pm; but will accept all applications looking to fill any hours. 
Interviews planned for the week of August 19th.  Paid onboarding to occur the week of August 26th.

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director of Community Education and Communication Services, the Fitness Center Assistant is responsible for supervising the Fitness Center and maintaining a secure atmosphere, as well as providing care for and disinfection of the equipment and space. 
 
Skilled in:

Customer relations, knowledge of fitness equipment, effective communication skills with a variety of populations, basic technology skills, and abilty to work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist members with the check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Communicate with the supervisor of any membership questions or concerns.
  • Check equipment for functionality and communicate with the supervisor of any damaged equipment (including sound system) or other safety issues.
  • Disinfect equipment.
  • Maintain a clean environment.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to:
Performs other duties of a comparable level or type.

Hours of Operation: (Fitness Center officially opens September 3rd)

Weekdays (School Days)
5am-3pm
6pm-9pm

Weekdays (Non School Days)
5am-9pm

Weekends
8am-4pm
