Position Overview: Finance Controller
Hours/Day: 8
Day/Year: Full-time 12 months a year
Compensation/benefits:  Unaffiliated Contract

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Controller is responsible for the district’s financial accounting and payroll systems, managing the collection and disbursement of district funds, preparing required local, state and federal financial reports, assisting with the compilation and coordination of the district’s budget, and preparing audit documents.

Education/Certification Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field required.
• Master’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in school finance preferred

Experience:
• Finance, accounting and/or payroll systems experience preferred.
• Experience and understanding of GAAP (generally acceptable accounting principles) and UFARS (Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards).
• Thorough understanding of financial reporting/requirements and general ledger structure.
