Job Title: Special Educations Paraprofessional(s) – Extended School Year
(Number of staff to be determined as numbers of students are determined)
JobSummary: These positions require working with students with special needs, carrying out IEP accommodations and assisting the special education teacher with instruction and activities. These positions may also require toileting, lifting and positioning. Candidates who are PCM certified are preferred. Paraprofessionals working in ESY must meet the highly qualified requirements
Hours per day: These are temporary positions that start July 15th, 2024 and run through August 1st, 2024. The work schedule is 3.5 hours per day, 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday. Interested Applicants will need to attend a 5 hour Orientation and Training on a date that will be determined at Oak-Land Middle School.
Qualifications: In order to work as a Special Education Paraprofessional, you must meet the state requirement of being Highly Qualifed prior to your start date. To be considered Highly Qualifed, you must have ONE of the following; a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associates Degree, or 60+ hours of post-secondary education, or a Passing Score on the ParaPro Exam. Please be prepared to submit documentation in support of your qualifications. (Acceptable documentation includes transcripts from the college or a copy of the ParaPro Exam report.)
Start Date: July 15th (5 hour orientation date TBD in July)
