Position Summary:
Crookston Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE  K-12 licensed ELL (English Language Learner) Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  This position would be responsible for developing English Learner students’ ability to effectively perform courses of study in the English language; supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines, and modeling and improving instruction to improve student achievement and maximum potential.  Successful candidate would provide high quality instruction to identified students and assist students with developing skills, attitudes and knowldege needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience as assigned.  Candidate should have a strong background in Spanish Language. This candidate will also provide reading intervention and extra educational assistance beyond the regular classroom to students in grades K-6 who need to significantly improve their academic performance to meet standards in reading.

Required Qualifications:
Applicant must hold a valid MN teaching license which covers grade K-12 or be anticipating one by Fall 2024.  Preferred candidate must have the ability to work and communicate well with others–students, staff and parents.  Ideal candidate will have a strong equity background, believing and ensuring all kids learn at high levels.  A strong background in literacy and language is preferred with in-depth understanding and application of language acquisition.  Bi-lingual skills in spanish is desired.

Crookston, MN is located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota and has a population of approximately 7,800.  Agriculture is a very strong part of our community.  University of Minnesota-Crookston campus is located here and is a very strong member and supporter of our community.  Located just 25 miles east of Grand Forks, ND. we are close to the University of North Dakota, ample shopping, dining, an international airport, and more.  Direct enrollment size is approximately 1150 students.  There are currently 4 sections per grade, with approximately 85 students per grade.
