Shakopee Public Schools is looking for a 0.35 FTE General Music/Instrumental Music Teacher and 0.65 FTE Building Substitute for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Job Summary:

Provides instruction in content area in accordance with each student’s ability, creates a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establishes effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members. When not teaching General Music/Instrumental Music, candidate will plan, teach, and carry out all functions related to teaching in an elementary school classroom setting, and the Principal will provide you with your daily assignment of which you will be expected to follow the daily schedule. 

Qualifications:

  • MN teaching license for Elementary Music
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Ability and willingess to connect with the community through communications and performances

Working Conditions:
Classroom, office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
