Educational Associate – Special Education (Long-term Substitute)

Summary:
With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools’ mission, vision, and core values, the Educational Associate for Special Education assists teachers and supports students with academic, social, motor, behavioral, health, life skills, and other functional tasks. Educational Associates for Special Education work one-on-one and with small groups of students in the areas of instructional reinforcement and student support and learning assistance. Â
Rate of Pay:
The wage for this position is $22.20 per hour.
Benefits:
This is a temporary/casual position. Eligible employees will participate in the state’s largest pension program, the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). Leave benefits will be applied in accordance with Minnesota law.
Daily Schedule:
 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Working Days per Year:
January 13, 2025 through March 28, 2025
Qualifications Desired:
 Required:
- Associate’s Degree or at least two years of post-secondary education (a minimum of 60 semester credits), or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment
Preferred:
- Experience working with students
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Strong communication skills
