Position Title: Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Special Education
Primary Location: Goodview Early Childhood
Assignment Specifications: 6.5 hours/day, School Days, only; 7:30am-2:30pm, 2023-24 School Year
Group Affiliation/Policy: Educational Assistants
Classification: B-2-2, $18.34-$19.69/hour hiring range
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
 
Responsibilities: Under the administrative direction of the Building Principal and under the direct supervision of certified personnel, the Educational Assistant is an integral part of the educational team because of support provided to maximize instructional time. Duties assigned may include: monitoring and escorting students, record keeping, charting monthly activity logs, material preparation, reinforcement  of previously taught lessons, and restraints when called for as per an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or student care plan. The educational assistant does not have responsibility for making decisions about any aspect of a student’s educational program; rather they are responsible for carrying out directives as provided by the certified personnel or Building Administration.

Staff work with children to develop positive self-image and outstanding academic skills to ensure children are prepared for a successful transition to kindergarten.
