POSITION AVAILABLE:   Education Consultant – Literacy Focus

POSITION LOCATION:  SWWC Service Cooperative with placement in the region. (Willmar, MN area preferred).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  The Education Consultant (Literacy focus) provides leadership in training, professional learning, instructional assistance, and coaching support to educators on structured literacy practices and evidence-based reading instruction.  Designs and supports implementation of evidence-based reading interventions.  Familiar with Local Literacy plans.  Evaluates, selects and designs effective intervention methods targeted to foundational literacy skills.  Prepares and presents information to small and large groups; participates in planning meetings and training activities with other SWWC staff, RCE staff, MDE staff, and other specialists.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s Degree and MN teaching licensure from the Department of Education is required; however master’s degree in Special Education, Education, and/or Reading preferred.  Minimum of three years’ experience in providing district or staff professional learning.  Five years teaching experience in the area of reading preferred.  Structured literacy certification required (e.g. LETRS, CERI, or other structured literacy certification). Valid driver’s license is required. 

SALARY: This position is a full-time 185-day contract for the 2024-2025 school year beginning 8/6/24.  Salary dependent upon education, qualifications and experience.
