Job Title:  Early Childhood Preschool screener.

Hours per day:  Casual position, hours and days will vary 

  The Early Childhood Screening Health Professional’s Responsibilities May Include:

• Completing hearing and vision screenings, checking height and weight

• Reviewing health history, immunization records, and health history/family factors forms completed by families

• Summarizing findings and reviewing with families

• Making referrals to Early Childhood Special Education and health related referrals

• Providing the families additional health and school related resources

• Collaborating with the screener Coordinator

• Other duties as assigned by ECS Coordinator

Preferred Qualifications:

• MN School Nurse license or certification as a RN or LPN in Minnesota.

• Previous hearing and vision screening experience and an understanding of procedures involved in Early Childhood Screening.

• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

• Previous work with young children and families.

• Experience with working with interpreters and diverse populations.

• Ability and willingness to commit to the school district’s mission, beliefs, and strategic plan and support Early Learning outcomes for children and families.
