EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION – COORDINATOR

The Delano Public School District’s Community Education Department is seeking applicants for the Early Childhood Programs Coordinator. The coordinator will be responsible for Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), School Readiness program, Early Childhood Screening, and related programs.  
 
The position is a full-time, 200 days/yr position. Salary will be commensurate with experience, with a full benefits package.
 
Position Summary:
The coordinator provides leadership, development, implementation, and evaluation of Early Childhood Family Education, School Readiness /preschool, Early Childhood Screening, and related early childhood programs.  
 
The coordinator is responsible for the following programs:

  • Early Childhood Family Education – may include teaching classes
  • School Readiness /Preschool
  • Early Childhood Health and Developmental Screening
  • Related programs as assigned 

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Program leadership and management
  • Supervises early childhood personnel
  • Provides curricular supervision and instructional leadership
  • Communications and marketing
  • Financial management, including grant writing
  • Other responsibilities as assigned 

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Parent and/or Family Education
  • Current MN Early Childhood, Parent or Family Education license
  • Experience preferred 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with early childhood programs
  • Knowledge of best practices in early childhood and family education programs and services
  • Knowledge of MN Early Childhood indicators of Progress (ECIPs); experience with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge / experience with programs such as Pathway II Scholarships, Parent Aware, MN Reading Corps, Voluntary Pre-K, and others preferred
  • Experience writing grants and applying for state funding for early childhood programs
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills in staff supervision and training
  • Ability to effectively lead a team to achieve outcomes
  • Program development and budget management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and  school and Community Education staff
