Big Lake Schools is seeking a District Health Coordinator who is responsible for implementing and coordinating the delivery and maintenance of district health care services, programs and records, and participating in mandated health and safety program activities.

Qualifications:  

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing and three to five years previous experience in a health care setting, public health or educational institution.
  • Knowledge in the fundamentals, principles and practices of nursing care procedures, methods and techniques;
  • Knowledge of relevant public health laws, guidelines and rules pertaining to student health care and nursing care services;
  • Knowledge of district administrative rules and procedures pertaining to health care services and operations;
  • Skilled in assessing, evaluating, planning and implementing health care and health care services within the district; and in the conduct and implementation of various health screenings.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, current health care issues, concerns and trends;
  • Skilled in planning, implementing and instructing students and staff in health care issues and concepts;
  • Skilled in the delivery and conduct of nursing treatments, first aid and emergency health services;
  • Skilled in organizing, implementing and maintaining health records, documentation and reporting requirements.

License Requirements:   Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the MN Board of Nursing, licensure as a Public Health Nurse by the MN Board of Nursing, and licensure as a School Nurse by the MN Department of Education.
