COMPENSATION:
$110,000 – $130,000 depending on experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current Minnesota Teaching License
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Masters Degree in education related area
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Five or more years of successful secondary education experience
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Skilled in leadership core competencies including: strategic leadership, collaboration, judgment, communication, planning and execution, business knowledge, self-management, motivation and courage, and cultural competence
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Three or more years of district level experience

Preferred
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current administrative licensure from the MN Department of Education or working towards licensure
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in 6-12 curriculum development
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cognitive Coaching training

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Secondary Education will assist the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education in planning, assessing, developing, and supporting secondary programming. The Director will work in partnership with other instructional directors and coordinators, as well as leaders in other departments, to ensure student success. The Director will be responsible for aligning 6-12 curriculum with the MDE standards and allocating resources.聽 The Director will plan and implement professional development to support high quality instruction.聽

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with other department and district leaders to provide instructional leadership of innovative and best practice strategies that are consistent with district mission and department goals
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain current knowledge of curriculum and instruction; resources, changes in state and federal education laws, and educational strategies for student success
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support College and Career Readiness coordination across the District including supporting the implementation and development of Career Pathways in Secondary schools
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Promote a learning culture that incorporates professional development and reflective practices
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure program implementation is ongoing and monitored according to implementation best practices
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop, submit, and monitor budgets for the operation of assigned programs and services
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide leadership to coordinators, building staff, administrators, teams and the community to ensure all students have access to high quality instruction
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lead in providing professional development activities in order to increase the knowledge and skills of coordinators, teachers, administrators, and support staff
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide leadership to assure horizontal coordination and vertical scope and sequence of state standards in 6-12 content areas
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Implement the adopted curricular review procedures for 6-12 programs
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Incorporate the use of multiple forms of data in guiding decisions and supporting student needs
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supervise assigned Coordinators and Teachers on Special Assignment
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Communicate clearly and in a timely basis with all stakeholders
路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Other duties as assigned
