Credit Recovery Before/After School Teacher
Park High School 

Anticipated Start Date: 
Trimester 1: 10/15/24 – 11/21/24
Trimester 2: 1/14/25 – 2/20/25
Trimester 3: 4/15/25 – 5/22/25 

Compensation:
Salary schedule based on Teacher’s Contract, previous teaching experience and education starting at $31.93 per hour.

License Requirement: MN Teaching License 
Desired: Minnesota teaching license in 5-12 or 9-12 Social Studies, Math, English, Science or Special Education.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Credit Recovery teachers deliver essential high school coursework and provide personalized support to students with varying ability levels.  They are responsible for tailoring their teaching to meet individual needs, offering guidance and encouragement, and implementing strategies to help students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.  Additionally, teachers communicate regularly with families to keep them informed of student progress and attendance and collaborate on strategies for success.
 
 
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Deliver, adapt, and/or reteach the credit recovery curriculum to meet each student’s unique needs, ensuring personalized learning and support.
  2. Implement individualized accommodations and modifications as outlined by IEPs and 504 plans.
  3. Administer and monitor assessments onsite, tailoring feedback to support individual student progress and ensure mastery-level completion of the course for each student.
  4. Accurately record daily attendance and maintain detailed, individualized records of student engagement.
  5. Use prep time to communicate with parents/guardians, counselors, case manages, and administrators about each student’s progress and tailored strategies for success.
  6. Work with Assistant Principal and Site Lead on setting and maintaining appropriate learning and behavior expectations.
  7. Engage with students regularly throughout the session to monitor progress, check for understanding, re-teach content, answer questions, and encourage note-taking.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
 
Required:

  1. Minnesota Teaching License.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
  3. Experience teaching core subjects in multi-level classrooms.
  4. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  5. Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, Microsoft Word and Google docs.
  6. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
  7. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

 
Desired:

  1. Minnesota teaching license in 5-12 or 9-12 Social Studies, Math, English, Science or Special Education.
  2. Experience working with diverse students with varied educational backgrounds.
  3. Trained in Edmentum/PLATO web based curriculum.

Experience working with student of varied capabilities and learning styles.
