Career and College Readiness Counselor/Coordinator
1.0 FTE 2024-2025
The Career and College Counselor/Coordinator serves RCHS students and families in grades 7th-12th grade by providing a program that focuses on the major aspects of the career counseling and college planning/placement process. The goal is for every Rush City Student to be prepared with a plan for life after high school. This position will work closely with our 7th-12th Grade School Counselor with some duties being shared. Applicants with a 4-year degree or school counseling license qualify for the teachers’ contract. Others would be considered for the coordinator contact.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Â

Ensuring every student has a Personal Learning Plan that is tailored to their post-secondary plans and working with the FACS/Social Studies Departments in the yearly update of the Personal Learning Plans on MNCIS

Collaborate with teaching staff to offer presentations to students tailored to Career Pathways and College Readiness

Assist with student scheduling and registration; Guide what courses students should take to match their career pathway

Plan and coordinate programs such as career and college fairs, work link, scholarships, FAFSA Night and internship opportunities

Testing: ACT, Accuplacer, ASVAB, PSAT

Serve on the MTSS HS teamsÂ

Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:

Minnesota School Counseling License

Experience with College and Career Counseling
