Up North Learning Center is seeking Behavior Interventionists to work at our Level IV school. Our building is nestled in the woods just outside of Walker, MN. It houses students in grades K-12, who have special education needs primarily identified with ASD and EBD. 

Up North Learning Center’s mission is to support children with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs to be successful, active members of the community as they grow and thrive.  The trauma responsive programming  identifies individual skills for students  to become successful students in the classroom.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 60 college credits or successful completion of the ParaPro exam. 

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to implement behavior intervention plans and become certified in Life Space Crisis Intervention and Handle With Care.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records of behavioral data using the PTS data tracking system and anecdotal records.

  • Able to identify potential problems and develop appropriate solutions in a timely manner.

  • Assists licensed school personnel with student discipline, preparing supplemental work and keeping students on task.

  • Assists with the implementation of instruction as required by the Individualized Education Program.

  • Maintain a positive school environment by providing positive behavior and social-emotional intervention.

Hours per day: 7

Duty days per year:  186 (Aug 1 – June 14)

Salary:  $20-$23/hour
