The SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an immediate and full-time opening for a Behavior Assistant (Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)) for our 401 Building in Chaska, MN.

Description:
Behavior Assistant, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days.  

Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher and/or behavior analyst.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works individually or in small groups. Behavior Assistants work under the close, ongoing guidance of a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Teachers. The Behavior Assistant is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic services. As a Behavior Assistant, the incumbent will interact with students of all abilities.  

Pay & Benefits: 
The starting pay is $23.11 per hour with the opportunity to earn up to $4.80 per hour more when completing continuing education. A competitive and comprehensive benefit package is also available.
 
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, prefer 2 years of post-secondary training or AA degree in child development.
  • The ability to obtain the PCS/CFSS certificate.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification*
  • Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
