Position: Associate Administrator – Next Step
Work Schedule: 
 Mon-Fri, 221 Contract Days
Start Date: Fall 2024
Pay: Dependent on qualifications

Summary:
Provide leadership in the engagement of students, parents, and the community at The Next Step Transition Program.  Support the Program Supervisor, Social Worker, and Behavior Intervention Team in coordinating transition services for students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of trauma-sensitive practices and mental health issues
  • Strong intercultural competence
  • Mature judgment and emotional stability under stress
  • Demonstrated potential for ability to work with data
  • Ability and desire to work with diverse populations or learners and families to close the opportunity gap
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents and community contacts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have or in the process of obtaining an educational, social work, or counseling license 
  • Experience with program coordination
  • Experience or background in the areas of social emotional learning and mental health 
  • Experience or background in working with individuals with developmental, social communication, emotional, mental health, and behavioral disabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategies and systems to improve student learning of pro-social and professional skills through behavior support plans; monitor behavioral interventions.
  • Enhance student, parent, and community engagement.
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of students and the school climate, including implementation of district policies which promote equity for all students.
  • Support Social Worker in tracking attendance for students; implement appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate and support Program Supervisor in completing new student meetings, including intakes, IEP meetings, and new student tours.
  • Manage site-based digital resources, such as Staff Handbook, Student Handbook, Transition Resources Page, The Next Step Website, and social media updates.
  • Coordinate and plan the annual graduation ceremony.
  • Manage after school programming requests and coordinate facilitation of student events after school.
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Work Environment:
ISD 622 is a community collaborative dedicated to educating and empowering all learners to excel in our changing world.  As a Parent Educator in our learning environment, the individual will primarily work indoors in a climate controlled classroom environment.  There may be irregular tasks that involve possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues. An incumbent in this position must follow all ISD 622 safety procedures including wearing required personal protective equipment as required in these circumstances.
