Job Summary:
Assist the principal in the operation of high school grades 9-12; supervises certified and support staff at the high school; coordinates programs within the high school as assigned, plans, conducts, and attends various meetings with staff, parents, students and other groups. 

Job Responsibilites: 
Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school and implementation of the building and district strategic plan.

  • Assist the principal in supervising, coaching and evaluating all site certified and non-certified personnel.
  •  Assists with student registration, schedules and staffing programs/departments as assigned.
  •  Assist the principal in the supervision and implementation of all curriculum.
  • Monitor student attendance and coordinate efforts for individual student improvement plans.
  • Maintains discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary.
  • Prepares schedules of classes and coordinates assignment of extra-curricular activities.
  • Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
  • Serves with parents, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Performs such record keeping functions, including payroll process for hourly employees, as the principal may direct.
  • Supervises the guidance program.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of all site in-services.
  • Assist in interpreting and enforcing local, state and federal policies, regulations and laws.
  • Assist with scheduling and assigning students for instruction.

Qualifications:

  •  Five years of successful teaching experience. Experience in positions demonstrating successful administrative leadership characteristics preferred.
  •  Master’s degree (emphasis in Educational Leadership, Organizational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction preferred).
  • Valid Minnesota Administrative credential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of modern education and ability to apply them to the needs of the school.
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of current curriculum and instructional practices and trends.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
  •  Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of the law as pertaining to schools.
