Minnetonka Middle School West (MMW) is one of two middle schools in the Minnetonka Public Schools.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the principal in providing leadership in the development of and the fulfillment of the school’s vision, mission, and goals.
  2. Serve as a member of the District’s administrative team, actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of District goals including overseeing assessment at the building level, and serve as the principal’s liaison at school and professional public meetings in the principal’s absence.
  3. Responsible for working with students including disciplinary issues, making necessary referrals, and communicating directly with parents, as appropriate.
  4. Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, staff development, and evaluation of teaching and paraprofessional staff members.  
  5. Actively participate in the SST process, help support teachers and students with intervention strategies.
  6. Communicate with parents, community members, and parent organizations concerning school programs and activities.  
  7. Share responsibility for building security, property and persons.
  8. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to District goals.  
  9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

 Qualifications: 

  1. Current principal licensure in the state of Minnesota
  2. Evidence of successful teaching experience, with supervisory or coordinating experience preferred.
  3. Experience working with students in grades 6-8 preferred.
  4. Evidence of leading large scale projects with a track record of success.
  5. Evidence of an excellent record of past professional performance applicable to performing all duties of the position.
  6. Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including work with faculty and staff, students, parents, and school community.
  7. Evidence of excellent human relations skills demonstrated in a variety of professional settings, including conflict resolution with youth and adults, small and large group facilitation skills, and demonstrated leadership capability. 

Salary and Benefit Information: 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. 
We offer a competitive benefit package. 
204 days per year (teacher duty days plus 20 additional days)
