Position: Assistant Coach – Defensive Coordinator – 10th Grade FootballÂ
Work Schedule: 3:00pm – 6:30 (Will be dependent on game and practice schedules)Â
Start Date:Â June 1, 2024Â
Compensation: Per Schedule B of the Centennial Teachers ContractÂ

Required Qualifications:Â

Bachelor of Arts DegreeÂ
-
Previous football coaching experience at the youth, high school, or collegiate level.Â

Excellent communication skills when dealing with students, staff and community.Â
Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Work in partnership with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment of the Centennial High School football program vision and mission as a whole.Â

Hold organizational meetings for returning and new team members and encourage student participationÂ
-
Assess skills of student-athletes and determines team selections, in partnership with other coaches?Â

Schedules and organizes regular practice schedules to provide both individual and team development at all levelsÂ
-
Coach and instruct students, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, techniques, and tactics of the gameÂ

Observe students, during games and practice to determine the needs for individual and/or team improvementÂ
-
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of team membersÂ

Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are metÂ
-
Follow established procedures in the event of an injuryÂ
-
Clear communication with parents/guardians providing program informationÂ
-
Follow state, sectional, and school district bylaws and policies as it pertains to governance of the programÂ

Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials, and spectators set forth by the standards of the MSHSL and Centennial School DistrictÂ

Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities while creating a welcoming environment for coaches and student-athletes at all levelsÂ

Ensure adherence toward the required MSHSL training and education for self and each member of the coaching staffÂ

Provide opportunities for student-athlete participation in off-season clinics, camps, and program activitiesÂ
