POSITION AVAILABLE  

Site Supervsior Robbinsdale Area Schools Adventure Club School Age Care
Level 6 Program Assistant Terms and Conditions of Employment ($49,169 – $63,261)
Up to an additional $2500 per year stipend plus $2000 hiring bonus
52 weeks per year
40 hours of paid time per week, Monday through Friday.  Some split shifts and some straight shifts depending on needs of the site
Meadow Lake Elementary Adventure Club

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervise Adventure Club program development and operation for one site, before-and after-school, non-school and vacation days. This is an in person position at the site Monday through Friday. Indoor and outdoor supervision of students and staff.

Relationships:

Reports to:      Adventure Club Director
Supervises:    All program site staff
Works with:    Staff, children, parents, shared decision making management team, District 281 staff, youth-serving organizations and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Adventure Club Program Mission to: Provide a fun, safe enriching experience in a respectful and nurturing environment and promote life long learning skills in all children and youth during out of school time.
  • Support the Program Goals by: 
  1. Providing opportunities for children to succeed both academically and socially through the collaboration of the school and community resources. 
  2. Provide a secure and inclusive environment in which all children may explore the world around them.  
  3. Provide opportunities from which all children learn to make choices that contribute to both their growth in life long learning skills and their development into becoming respectful and responsible adults.  
  4. Support families by providing community resources.  
  5. Foster the individual growth and development of all children and youth.  
  6. Provide children with new experiences and involvement in their community.
  • Supervise Adventure Club program development and operations for one or two sites, before and after school, non-school and vacation days.
  • Promote, support and implement the Ignite Afterschool Accreditation  Program Standards for quality school age care and CCAP certification standards for the site.
  • Develop and implement an effective and enriching anti-bias, inclusive environment and curriculum according to the Adventure Club Mission and National Standards.
  • Develop and implement a fiscally sound site budget.
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate site staff and assist in implementing staff development and team work. 
  • Responsible for the overall supervision of children and may be in staffing ratio depending upon site and enrollment. 
  • Develop effective guidance policies for all children regardless of ability or special needs.
  • Establish effective communication with children, their families, Adventure Club and school staff and community.
  • Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of the Adventure Club site. 
  • Assist and partake in collaborating and contributing to the Adventure Club Leadership Team
  • Assist in the overall Adventure Club program administrative functions.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding staff, students and their families.
  • Implement a philosophy of education and administration that is compatible with Adventure Club and Robbinsdale Area Schools missions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Adventure Club Program Director

QUALIFICATIONS
A Site Supervisor in the Adventure Club program is preferred to meet the following qualifications.

  • Completed BA or BS in elementary, early childhood, school-age education or related field preferred. Credit hours in child and youth development and other areas related to School Age Care (SAC) programming preferred.
  • Five years experience preferred in supervising the development of a similar school-age care or related program.
  • Experience in staff supervision, training and curriculum development.
  • Successful experience working with children ages 5-11 years in groups.
  • A working knowledge of business management, finance, school and child care law, developmentally appropriate anti-bias curriculum and both CCAP Certification Standards and the Accreditation Standards.
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in conflict resolution, crisis management skills, commitment to multicultural, gender fair and differing ability awareness.
  • Ability to encourage and mentor shared leadership, team building and collaborative working relationships within the building and overall program.
  • Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid certification and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training certification.
