Qualifications/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED.
Successful DHS background check required.

Associates degree, passing score on ParaEducator Praxis, or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in education, enrichment and recreation, or other related fields preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification/training prior to the first day. CPI Training required within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
General knowledge of childcare practices and techniques, general knowledge of children’s developmental and social growth expectations and needs, ability to work with preschool and school age children.

Specific Tasks:

This position will provide onsite inclusion support for students in preschool through fifth grade and assist in the planning, development, and leading of Adventure Center program. Position works collaboratively with building staff, families, and Site Lead in providing high quality, inclusive, and engaging environments for students with special needs, including inclusive programming accommodations and recommendations, and serves as a connection point between school day staff and out of school time team.  Provides onsite guidance and mentoring for all staff focused on inclusion of students with special needs including those with 504 plans, individual education plans, and health conditions. Hours Per Day:
Summer:  30 hours per week, schedule flexible

School year: Mainly after school hours, schedule flexible

Due to state grant funding, Adventure Center staff will be paid a retention stipend each trimester based on longevity with Adventure Center, experience, education, professional development and hours worked. Must be a current employee when stipend is paid to be eligible.

Employees receive a 40% discount on Adventure Center and Early Childhood programming for their own children while working at Adventure Center.
