Job Summary:
The Media Coordinator for the Activities Department will be responsible for assisting in the creation of content related to Farmington High School activities, athletics, and arts programs. This position will work closely with the activities director and activities coordinator as well as program-specific booster club communications directors.

Job Duties:

  • Provides action photography for a predetermined number of home athletic events.
  • Travel with select athletic teams to a number of predetermined away events to provide action photography and a social media presence.
  • Organize and manage team photo sessions for all sports, activities, and arts to provide head and shoulder photos of participants for rosters, purchase, and posed action shots for media coverage.
  • Create galleries on FarmingtonTigers.com associated with each activity.
  • Assists the Activities Department and booster clubs in the development and production of sport-specific media guides.
  • Assist the Activities Department in the maintenance of FarmingtonTigers.com to contribute accurate, current, and consistent content following the approved style guidelines.
  • Assist the Activities Department and booster clubs in the development of banners, posters, and photos that are consistent with approved style guidelines and dimensions.
  • Assist booster clubs in the development and management of a social media calendar for their activity.
  • Assist teams and booster clubs in the management of social media accounts that are consistent with approved style guidelines.
  • Assists the Activities Department in the writing and editing of promotional materials including press releases, game recaps, and other stories for FarmingtonTigers.com.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and background in activities, athletics, and arts.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Evidence of the ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous tasks.

Nominal Stipend:
The district will pay the coach a fixed stipend as delineated in Schedule D, Column F of the master agreement with the Farmington Education Association.
The stipend amount is considered a “nominal stipend”.  The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team’s level of success.  If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program.  Any service provided during this two week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro-rated basis.   In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be pro-rated.
