Becker School District is conveniently located off of US Hwy 10, just 20 minutes SE from St. Cloud and 45 minutes NW from the Twin Cities. Job Description:
Becker Middle School (BMS) is currently seeking a dynamic and positive English Teacher for 6th Grade to join our team for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about fostering a learning environment where all students can thrive. As an English Teacher at BMS, we encourage a focus on motivating students to achieve their maximum potential.

Responsibilities:

Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
Translate lesson plans into meaningful learning experiences, integrating subject area content and technology.
Instruct students in specified subject matter, adapting teaching materials and methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. Foster critical thinking through group discussions and encourage students to think independently and express original ideas. Assess, identify, and evaluate the needs of students, providing instruction in individual or group sessions while maintaining standards of behavior.
Administer standardized tests according to established procedures and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports.
Communicate effectively with students, families through conferences and other means.
Stay current with professional development through in-service education and self-selected professional books and instructional materials.

Qualifications:
Minnesota Teaching Licensure, 5-12 Communication Arts Literature.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of subject(s) taught.
Thorough understanding of elementary, secondary, or special education principles, practices, and procedures.
Proficiency in effective teaching principles and methodology.
Familiarity with school and district rules, regulations, and procedures.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

Essential Skills Required:

Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
Strong oral and written communication skills for articulate presentations and reports.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and families.
