Tutor – Math Tutor

Eden Prairie School District is seeking a Math Tutor to work at Eden Prairie High School  The math tutor provides academic support to students, in consultation with classroom teachers, in small group or one-on-one settings.  Tutors do not deliver instruction; they provide academic support toward achievement of identified essential learning targets in Geometry and Algebra II curriculum. 
 
The tutor will ensure that the Public Schools Program and curricula are implemented in a way that maximizes student learning experiences. The math tutor is committed to the Eden Prairie School Board policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports directly to the principal of the school.

Position:
Mathematics Tutor

Rate of Pay:
$34.27/hour

Assignment:
1 day per week (Fridays), 8:30 am-3:30 pm

Start Date:
As soon as possible

Education/Certification:

• A current MN teaching license in the area of Math is preferred, but not required.

Experience:

• Ideal candidate will have previous experience providing academic assistance to studentws who require support understanding mathematics.
• Ideal candidates should also have experience supporting multiple instructional designs, and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.

Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with assigned students, and staff.
• Must be proficient with current technology used to support student learning, and student progress monitoring.
• Must be able to respond to relevant data about assigned student learning.
• The ability to support instructional goals and designated outcomes for assigned students and to clearly communicate those to learners.
