AM and PM to/from school bus routes  

Approximately 6.00 hrs/day, student contact days

Paid holiday’s, personal days, and sick days, full benefits

 

 

This position is for substituting school bus and van drivers as needed along with other duties including cleaning and office work 

 

  • Substitute for van and bus drivers on an as needed basis
  • Clean interior and exterior of district owned vehicles if not driving a route
  • Learn all special ed van and school bus routes
  • Deliver intra-district mail as needed
  • Back up dispatch when needed
  • Drive activities on a rotation basis optional (rotation is with other to/from bus drivers)
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school-aged children and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from schools and various activities. Conducts pre-trip inspections; observes safety regulations and policies; enforces student discipline on the bus.

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

 

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement
  • Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen
  • Successful completion of the school driver training programs and courses established by the state and/or school district

Applicant must have a good driving record, be able to pass a drug and alcohol test, and pass a background check.  Applicant must be dependable with a good work ethic, and a great attitude.  Training will be provided to acquire a school bus drivers license if needed.
