Master’s degree in Reading or Reading Endorsement, preferred 5-12 certification/licensure prefered, but not required.
Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience presenting and working with students and teachers to improve their practices.  Technology skill (able to use e-mail, Microsoft productivity tools, cloud computing, web searches and technology-based learning)

REPORTS TO: Building Administrator

JOB GOAL:
The job of Title I teacher was established for the purpose/s of improving students’ success in reading and math by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; developing lesson plans; modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments; providing a safe and positive learning environment; and providing feedback to students.

 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Develop and coordinate reading and math lessons cooperatively with classroom teachers for the purpose of ensuring student success and supporting teachers.
Instruct student (e.g. individually, small and whole group sessions, etc.) for the purpose of improving their success in reading and math and assessing key concepts and proficiencies through defined courses of study. 
Collect, analyze, and prepare data for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum. .
Assume individual responsibilities as assigned by administration (e.g. collegial groups, staff inservice, committee work, student activities, student supervision, etc.) for the purpose of improving staff knowledge and supporting student activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION: TITLE I READING 
Advise parents and/or legal guardians for the purpose of supporting teacher’s expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
Prepare and maintain accurate district, state and federal records and reports.
Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
Demonstrate methods required to perform assignments for the purpose of providing an effective district reading programs and addressing the needs to students. 
 Direct paraprofessionals, volunteers, and/or student aides, etc. for the purpose of maximizing their efficiency and meeting work requirements, providing an effective school program, and addressing the individual needs of students. 
Evaluate students’ abilities in reading and math skills for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of learning disorders, developing remediation plans, and/or evaluating student progress. 
Facilitate study groups and district inservices (e.g. team meetings, workshops, etc.) for the purpose of providing staff development and support to district staff. 
Further personal education via staff development, college courses, etc. for the purpose of staying current with the latest and best practices, and learning new theories and technology. 
Maintain confidentiality of all information for the purpose of protection of students, staff, parents, and the district. 
Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. Mentor classroom teachers and support staff for the purpose of supporting staff in the instructional process. 
Monitor student progress for the purpose of providing student feedback on a regular basis to students, teachers, and parents, and determining interventions for those students who are diagnosed as “at risk” learners 
 Participate in various meetings for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information.
Provide assistance in selecting and administering valid, reliable assessments and screening instruments for the purpose of providing an effective school program to increase the skills of students.
