Southside Family Charter School (SFCS) is a teacher led, nationally recognized award-winning, K-8 urban elementary school serving 120 students and their families in South Minneapolis. Founded in 1972, we provide an academically challenging, socially conscious education to a diverse community of learners.  We are proud to offer a social justice curriculum, small class sizes and hands-on learning.  

 

The Title & Interventionist Teacher needed for this position will be licensed and have the ability to teach small groups of elementary and middle school students content in literacy, math through a social justice education lens.  This individual will serve as the District Title Coordinator and will plan and monitor progress of small group interventions, both academic and social-emotional (SEL).   

The ideal applicant will have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • specialized reading, writing, and/or math instruction

  • quality individualized instruction aligned to the state and national standards

  • skills in parent communication and desire for parent involvement

  • collaboration skills for working with general and special education teachers

  • use of a variety assessment strategies – diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning.  

  • creating schedules and managing a variety of student individual needs

  • progress monitoring and data driven decision making
