Salary range/hourly rate:Â $27.58Â per hour – Nonaffiliated, overtime eligible. Position qualifies for insurance.
Work week: Full time
Calendar: 10 month, 260 day working calendar

General Definition of Work:
Assist in the safe operation and maintenance of the district’s lighting, sound, rigging, video projection and related production/support systems. These systems are typically used in support of musical productions, drama productions, concerts, dance, assemblies, meetings, and related events. Work is performed under the supervision of the Theatre Technical Director and Director of Technology and Innovation.

- Assist the TheatreTechnical Director with daily operations.
- Ability to work as an individual or with a team on various school events, as well as outside vendor events.
- Assist in design, implementation and strike of production equipment for all events.
- Assist with management of over 60 student crew members.
- Assist with training/mentoring students on how to design, implement, and strike all school/rented production equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all performance spaces and production areas.
- Assist with setup of front of house operations such as ticket booth, concessions, programs, and ushers.

Essential Functions:
Runs the day to day technical operations of the district’s auditoriums, event areas, and community spaces. Design and implementation of lighting, sound, video, and other production equipment and software. Performs necessary cleaning and maintenance under the direction of the Theater Technical Director. Assists with training and supervision of student tech crews in design and implementation of lighting, sound, video, stage management, hair/make-up, costumes, props, and set construction. This includes training on how to properly strike and store all equipment properly. Designs, manages, and performs all technical needs for various events throughout the district and the community.Â

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of industry standard best practices, organization and departmental policies and procedures is required. Knowledge of the proper and safe operation of technical systems present in a live production setting. Extensive knowledge of industry standard theatrical production systems.Thorough skill in sound design, wireless microphones, creation of sound FX, spatial audio and live event mixing. Thorough skill in designing and implementing video production using projectors and projection mapping software. Knowledge of using standard personal lifts and operating under OSHA guidelines. The ability to interpret stage plots including but not limited to: Signal flow, lighting plots, electrical diagrams, set design and architectural drawings. Ability to effectively lead, train and mentor student groups, staff, community members and parent volunteers. Ability to be available on a varied schedule depending on theater needs. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administration, staff, parents, elected officials, students and community members. Performs other duties as assigned.Â

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years experience in the production field and basic stagehand experience preferred.
- Previous knowledge of light, sound and video installation/implementation.
- Previous knowledge of video projection,edge blending, projection mapping, Qlab.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office, basic typing and Google apps
- Must be able to work long hours. Nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds and work from a ladder and/or scissor/personal lift.
- Must be dependable, on time, honest, and able to deal with a high stress environment.
- Must have problem solving skills, high energetic personality and time management skills.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of various students, groups, staff, vendors, administration and community members.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift, push or pull objects up to 100 pounds using appropriate tools. Regularly requires reaching with hands and arms. Able to bend and kneel. This position requires entry into confined spaces at times. Operation of motorized vehicles or equipment and abiding by all safety regulations. This position frequently requires working in high, precarious places and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. This position also requires use of ladders. Occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. You may be required to wear specialized (PPE) personal protective equipment. General skill using standard powered and manual tools.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to achieve Dante audio certification within 6 months of hire.
