The Austin Public School District is seeking to hire three Full Time 5-12 Teaching and Learning Coaches聽effective for the 2024-2025聽school year.

Job Summary:

The聽APS 5-12 Teaching and Learning Coach is a teacher-on-special-assignment (TOSA) position and is an important lever in the improvement聽of聽student performance by facilitating聽the support and learning of classroom instructors. 聽This position is a fixed-term position of up to seven consecutive years. After the term, coaches will return to a position they are licensed for in the district.

The Teaching and Learning Coach will:

  • Guide聽teachers in the implementation, sustainability, and evaluation of grade- and department-level curriculum cycles.聽
  • Keep abreast of updated Minnesota learning standards and ensure that any changes聽are noted and implemented across the district.聽
  • Support teachers in using tools, strategies, and software that support adopted curriculum and standards.
  • Provide mentorship and support for new teachers during their first three years at APS.聽
  • Collaborate with the district鈥檚 Educational Technology and Media Specialists聽to ensure that聽instructional practices align with the district鈥檚 Information and Digital Literacy Outcomes
  • Support the Packer Profile as they develop system-wide practices and professional development in support of student success.聽
