Minimum Qualifications

A valid Minnesota teaching license in Adaptive Physical Education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Successful adaptive physical education teaching experience.

Excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills.

Familiarity with multicultural, gender and disability-fair interdisciplinary curricula.

Knowledge of media-related technologies such as computers, library automation, electronic reference services, on-line data bases and internet.

Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles as well as teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities.

Ability to work productively with persons from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Ability to incorporate high order thinking skills to all students.

Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, community and administration.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

Develop and maintain a multicultural, gender and disability-fair adaptive physical education collection that supports the curriculum of the school.

Work effectively with students, staff, community members and parents from various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Seek community input in providing an adaptive physical education collection that reflects the growing diversity of students.

Provide leadership and demonstrate willingness to seek and provide professional growth and development in the area of adaptive physical education skills, technology, research and development.

Develop and implement innovative methods for serving students in a school with a flexible schedule and multiple collaborations.

Attend district meetings and workshops.

PAY, BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE
This is a 10 month position working 40 hours per week.
Pay range for this position is:  $48,015 – $109,398
Maximum hiring step = Step Twenty (20)

Transcript – Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire.  You must submit official transcripts within 30 days of your start date.  Formal credential evaluation is required for post-secondary education completed outside of the United States.
