Salary Range: $18.54 – $26.28 per hour

FTE: 2.5 hours/daily

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Supervision Aide provides assistance for children during the lunch and recess program from 10:40-1:10 daily. This position is responsible for supervising children in the cafeteria and on the playground to ensure a positive, safe environment for children to eat and enjoy recess time.  

 

Additionally, this position includes 30 minutes of supervision in the health office.  The candidate would receive direction and training from the Licensed School Nurse to support students and staff members in the health office.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises large groups of students at playtime and lunchtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
  • Directs movement of groups to and from classrooms, playground, and lunchroom in a safe and organized manner.
  • Makes suggestions for/supervises group games and activities.
  • Assumes responsibility for outdoor play equipment. Reports safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Assists students in lunchroom clean up.
  • Identifies potentially unsafe situations.
  • Helps support children and staff in a proactive way.
  • Anticipates crucial and/or quickly changing situations and reacts appropriately.
  • Collaborates with staff in implementing individual behavior plans.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Performs basic health office duties, such as giving medications, basic first aid, and communicating with adults the Licensed School Nurse and the Health Aide.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED.
