Summer Recreation Specialist/Intern

Duties and responsibilities include:

Under the general direction of the Director of Community Education and the Youth Enrichment Coordinator the Summer Recreation Specialist/Intern will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities for youth, PreK – Grade 6, using the organization’s vehicle at various locations within the Proctor and Hermantown School Districts boundaries. This position is also responsible for setting up, leading, and engaging children while managing group dynamics to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, including a strong desire to connect with youth and foster a positive atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to work independently, pass an MN background check, have a valid MN Driver’s license, and be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working towards a bachelor’s degree in a field related to youth enrichment, development, park and recreation, or K-12 education.

Salary range: $17.45 – $20.18 hourly based on experience
