Description
Glencoe-Silver Lake School District #2859 is in immediate need for on-call, temporary individuals during the school year who are available to work when school district employees are absent.

Substitute Paraprofessionals: Duties may include assisting teachers in the classroom, working with students under a teacher’s supervision. Additional duties may include crossing guard duties before or after school, supervising on the playground during recess, and/or lunch room supervision. Current rate of pay is $16.60 per hour.
Preferred Skills of Applicants:
- Ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions
- The District requires applicants, who receive an offer of employment, to submit to a criminal history background check.
Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means - Occasional lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required.
- A high school diploma/GED for applicant of non certified positions
Substitute Teachers: Applicants must have a curent Teaching License or Short Call Substitute Teaching License through the Minnesota Department of Education. Current rate of pay is $150 full day/$75 half day.
Not licensed but interested in becomming a short-call sub?  A license application can completed through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Apply for a Short Call Substitute Teaching License @ https://mn.gov/pelsb/aspiring-educators/apply/ Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Short call subsittute licenses are valid for three years. Â
