ECFE is currently seeking a substitute van driver to work on an as-needed basis. 

 Early Childhood Family Education¿s (ECFE) mission is to strengthen families through education and support of all parents through providing the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children.  ECFE provides education in child development and parent/child relationships, which sets the stage for children¿s school success.

Qualifications

Required ¿

  1. Associates degree or 2 years post-secondary education.
  2. Must have, at minimum, a valid Minnesota Class D (Class C if issued prior to January 1, 1998)
    driver¿s license or a valid equivalent out-of-state driver¿s license with no suspensions or revocations
    within a three-year period prior to appointment.  Please note that a candidate¿s driving record will be reviewed prior to an offer of employment.
  3. Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively with other staff, community members, parents
    and children.
  4. Must be available for flexible scheduling, including days, evenings and Saturdays.

Preferred

  1. Some educational background related to the development and behavior of children and parent or
    family education.
  2. Some experience working with parents and children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:

  1. Drive families to and from the center following all safety rules and precautions.
  2. Assist the early childhood teacher in conducting children¿s classes.
  3. Assist in project outreach and recruitment of families.
  4. Participate in staff meetings, in service training sessions, advisory committee meetings and other community meetings and events as directed.
  5. Perform other related activities as assigned by the Project Coordinator or the ECFE Division Manager.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule

This is a temporary, as-needed position. 

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the EA negotiated labor agreement. The labor agreement and salary schedule can be found at Labor Agreements – Saint Paul Public Schools (spps.org). The rate of pay for this position is $18.85 per hour.

Transcript – Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire.  You must submit official transcripts within 30 days of your start date.  Formal credential evaluation is required for post-secondary education completed outside of the United States.
