Cyber Village Academy has an opening for .a student advocate working with general education and special education students. The ideal candidate has worked with children and is comfortable with technology or learning new technology platforms. The candidate is interested in a flexible, small school environment working with a close team of teachers, paraprofessionals and service providers.

Description

Job responsibilities

ï‚· Work directly with students in classrooms and in small settings to provide academic support to students.
ï‚· Take direction from and work with teachers to support classroom activities for the whole class or for particular students.
ï‚· Review and implement accommodations for specific students as outlined in the student's IEP.
ï‚· Complete written work as directed by supervisor.
ï‚· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job qualifications
ï‚· Excellent ability to build rapport and positive working relationships with students and teachers
ï‚· Patience and calmness with students of all abilities and personalities 
ï‚· Competent technology and writing skills
ï‚· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
ï‚· Associates or Bachelors Degree, or otherwise meets requirements of a "highly qualified paraprofessional."

Reports to: Special Education Director or School Director
Compensation: $20-21.50/hour depending on experience
Full-time schedule: 8 am – 4 pm Monday thru Friday
Full-time calendar: Academic calendar: all staff days
