Description
Speech Pathologist
Reports to Principal
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate students referred for speech and language testing through formal and informal assessments
Determine speech disorders and delays related to articulation, fluency, voice, and language
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students based on evaluation results
Provide individual and small group therapy sessions aimed at improving students' speech and communication skills
Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Maintain accurate and detailed records on caseload and document students' progress
Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, special education staff, and administrators to ensure optimal care
Stay current on speech pathology best practices and introduce new evidence-based interventions when appropriate
Required Qualifications:
Valid state license in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge of typical speech and language development in children
Experience evaluating and treating speech and language disorders
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Public school experience
Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
