Description
Saint Paul Public Schools is accepting applications for Speech Language Pathologist openings throughout the district for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Human Resource Department will review your qualifications and may contact you for an interview. Applicants who are interviewed and recommended as a teacher candidate may be considered for vacancies throughout the district as they occur.

Minimum Qualifications
A valid license in the area of Speech Pathology issued by the Minnesota Department of Education.Â
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles, as well as, teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities.Â
- Knowledge of, and the ability to use, the due process system, including timelines and due process paperwork.
- Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and students from diverse backgrounds.Â
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
- Support the State of Minnesota Graduation Standards and content area packages to promote curriculum in the school.
- Screen, identify, assess, and diagnose disorders of communication including articulation, voice, language, and fluency. Use state eligibility criteria to make decisions regarding service eligibility.
- Provide treatment and intervention, including consultation and follow-up to children, from birth to twenty-one years of age, diagnosed with communication disorders. Determine specific, reasonable, and appropriate goals and objectives and measure treatment outcomes through a program of periodic monitoring and data collection.
- Counsel students and their families/caregivers and other service providers regarding specific communication disorders and their management; make referrals when appropriate.
- Select, prescribe and provide services supporting effective use of assistive technology devices and other forms of augmentative and alternative communication.
- Serve as case manager and advocate for the students served.
- Collaborate with other professionals. Use communication skills that take into consideration the communication needs and cultural values of others.
- Document services for accountability and related billing requirements.
- Contribute to the District’s inclusive workplace efforts by fostering a safe, welcoming and respectful environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Transcript – Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire. You must submit official transcripts within 30 days of your start date. Formal credential evaluation is required for post-secondary education completed outside of the United States.Â

If your claim is approved, five or ten additional points will be added to your final passing score.
Criminal Background Investigation and Reference Checks – Reference checks and a criminal background investigation will be completed as a condition of hire for all new employees and for former employees who have not been employed by the District for more than six months.
Pay, Schedule and Benefits
