Description
Position title: Speech Language Pathologist
Qualifications: Licensed in Minnesota as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred designations that allow for third party billing.
Must be able to transport self, instructional materials, assessment kits, equipment or other necessary job-related items.
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Basic responsibilities:
- Assess difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
- Provide direct services to students with disabilities and indirect services to families and teachers.
- Interpret school-based speech therapy services to families and teachers.
- Prepare and submit written reports for children with disabilities being serviced by speech pathologist within timelines.
- Keep current with new developments in the field.
- Participate in the IEP, IFSP or IIIP process through written and oral communication.
- Plan and deliver effective speech services according to frequency and duration listed on IEP, IFSP or IIIP.
- Develop and implement a system of data collection to provide ongoing objective data for decision making.
- Act as a resource for communication devices and other assistive technology devices that aid in communication.
- Communicate effectively with families and school staff.
- Maintain a good working relationship with families and school staff.
- Perform all tasks necessary to collect third party (MA) payment as appropriate.
- Conduct yourself with a high degree of professionalism.
