Job Description
Early Intervention for students birth through age three is a vital and important role of the Early Childhood Special Education team. The Birth-3 Speech and Language Pathologist is a key member of the Birth-3 intervention team for consultation, services and collaboration with families and the 3-5 team. 
 
This role serves as the Primary Service Provider for students with primary language or articulation needs and as a consultant for other students served by the Birth-3 teachers. This is a fast-paced and community-facing position that connects families to the school and resources. At Centennial we value our pivotal role in helping families identify and meet their students’ needs, introduce them to educational services and engage them with resources.
 
 
Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess children and families to assist with and plan, develop, implement, and review curriculums and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) that will meet the individual developmental needs of young children and their families.
  • Complete and maintain records in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure Early Intervention services achieve desired outcomes for families and children served.
  • Communicate effectively through a family-centered philosophy, and respect for cultural diversity manner with families, staff, and community representatives.
  • Comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, guidelines and best practices providing Birth to Three early intervention services.
  • Assist in promoting and supporting community awareness and relationships. 

 
Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist with the State of Minnesota.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
  • Must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
  • Must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 
Salary/Wages
Range $46,857 – $94,761/full school year.  Dependent on education and years of experience.  Consistent with the current Teachers’ Master Agreement
