Job Summary:
To create and maintain a classroom that supports the school’s mission
Cultivate a sense of respect and responsibility
Create a sense of social awareness and social bridge to the broader community
Provide an innovative curriculum that leads each child to educational success
Instill self-esteem, confidence and a positive attitude in every child
Responsibilities:

Uses MN State Standards and MN Academic benchmarks to write appropriate lesson plans and adaptations

Write rigorous quizzes to assess students weekly in MN standards
-
Enter the quiz and comps scores into a tracker file to monitor the students understanding of MN Standards and plan the intervention

Integrates school-adopted curriculum into coherent lessons designed to maximize student’s potential
-
Develops ability to use the Student Information system (SIS)
-
Provides training and feedback to staff assigned to work as part of the classroom team
-
Meets due process timelines
-
Evaluates students using appropriate evaluation tools
-
Understands and implements School-Wide Discipline Policy
-
Other duties as assigned

Current license in area of assignment in MN Elementary K-6 grade

Excellent oral, written and spoken communication skills

Ability to interact well with internal staff, students and parents
-
Detail oriented, flexible and able to multitask

Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive attitude and a sense of humor

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful in completion of work assignments.

Sense of a accountability and ownership for work results

Ability to work with limited supervision

Knowledge of following computer applications like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Google applications

Ability to maintain status of “ not disqualified” upon completion of the criminal background and MN disciplinary incident research.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required for this position:

Bachelor’s Degree
-
Current Minnesota Teaching License or willing to get the Tier 1 License
-
Previous experience in charter schools preferred
-
Ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and assistant teachers
-
Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work with diverse populations of students, staff and parent
